Chan Ray - Music & Senior Adult Minister

Zac Priest - Student & Education Minister

I was brought up in a Christian home by Godly and loving parents who always encouraged me to seek the Lord’s path for my life. I surrendered my life to Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 10 and have been on a continual journey of growth ever since. In the summer of 2005 I answered the call to the ministry and was later Licensed and Ordained to the Gospel Ministry while serving in a small church near Marlow, OK. I truly believe that God wants us all to be a part of His family and that by trusting in Him we can accomplish anything.

I was called as the Student - Education Minister at Pawnee First Baptist Church in May of 2005. Since that time I have seen God move in mighty ways. We are constantly evaluating our ministries in order to gauge their effectiveness and God seems to be doing a wonderful work here in Pawnee.

Ministering to students and families is a passion my wife, Summer, and I share. Summer is a stay at home mom and is busy working every day training up our two young girls; and even with all the time that job requires Summer is still very involved in every aspect of our ministry. Our two young daughters, Hannah (6) and Riley (1) are just as much a part of our ministry as Summer and I. They love being around our students and it is a joy to watch our students and workers love on them.

If you have a student age 6th grade - 12th grade, know that he or she is always welcome in our ministry. We hold true to the intention of Paul as he wrote in Romans 12:2 that we should “not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Your student will be loved, accepted and shown how to develop a closer relationship with our God and Creator.

Camille Griffith - Church & Financial Secretary

I was born and raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma, then met my husband, Jim, in Stillwater in 1989, and we were married in 1992.  We are blessed with two teenagers.  I first came to Pawnee First Baptist Church as a “Mother of a Preschooler” in 1999.  Through the ministries of this church I came to understand the Truth, and through God’s leading, I came to know Jesus as my Savior.

I have been the secretary here since August, 2004.  I feel blessed to work at Pawnee First Baptist Church, and blessed to be involved in the ministries of this church.   I continue to grow as a Christian, and remind myself that  “He who has begun a good work in you (me) will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  Philippians 1:6

I look forward to helping you any way that I can.

Verna Culver - Children's Director

Caryn Brock - Preschool Director
The kids call me "Ms. Caryn." I was raised in church by Christian parents and I became a Christian at age 14. The Christian life is a journey and I have been on peaks and valleys, but through it all I have been assured that there is only one way to peace, joy and a true relationship with the one, true, living God and that is through His son, Jesus (John 14:6).

I have worked in the Preschool Department at FBC since 2003 and became Preschool Department Director in 2010. The Preschool Department is important because God says it's important. The Bible is filled with instances in which God demonstrates his value of children: God healed children (2 Kings 4:18-37, 2 John 4:46-53); He welcomed them in the church (Matthew 21:15-16); He welcomed them to Himself (Matthew 19:13-15, Mark 10:13-16, Luke 18:15-17); He encourages us to have faith like a child (Matthew 18:3); He issues a grave warning to anyone who would harm a child (Matthew 18:6, Mark 9:42, Luke 17:2).  Jesus loves children dearly. He does not take note of a child's socio/economic status, shade of skin, whether a child has had a bath or knows how to sit still during story time. We honor God when we love and value children in the same way He does.

I know how important it is to know that your children are loved because I have four children myself, all of whom have been a part of the FBC Preschool Department. My husband, Mike, and I have been married since 1993. Mike is a high school teacher and coach at Pawnee Public Schools and is an ordained and licensed Minister of the Gospel as well. If you have a child age birth through kindergarten, know that those who work in the Preschool Department will love and welcome him/her and that hugs are always freely given. We echo the apostle John, "I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth." (3 John 1:4).
